Start with one business task
Choose a specific conversation to prepare: answering an enquiry, collecting appointment details or reviewing a follow-up. Write down the facts the agent may share, the information it should ask for and the point at which a person should take over. An agent instruction to book an appointment or transfer a call still needs the corresponding configured tool; an instruction alone does not complete that action.
Sign in to your business workspace and open Agents. Use the Business setup checklist to review saved configuration and identify missing steps. Complete your business details, including the business name. Keep credentials, private tokens and information the caller should not receive out of the conversation instructions.
Review the draft and its knowledge
Choose Create Agent and use the available guided or manual setup. If Quick AI Setup is available, describe the business, generate a preview and review the suggested facts, opening and conversation steps before confirming creation. Treat the preview as a draft you own: correct unsupported statements and remove actions your business has not configured.
Add reference documents when the conversation needs them and check their processing status. Use documents you are entitled to supply and keep their business facts current. Review how the agent responds to an unanswered question, a request outside its scope and a caller who needs human help. A plausible answer is not evidence that a business policy or appointment exists.
Save, check publication and choose a browser test
Review voice, language and instructions, then choose Save Changes and wait for the saved result. Return to Business setup and use Refresh setup to check the reported publication status. Resolve missing or unavailable steps before testing; a local draft and the published version can represent different states.
Open Browser Test only when you are ready to speak. Start Voice Test explicitly and grant microphone permission if your browser requests it. Use End Call to stop. Browser tests do not consume telephone calling credits, but they still need a ready published agent and an available voice connection. Try both the intended conversation and an unexpected question, then review the result before changing the workflow.
Prepare telephone use separately
Review Telephone setup and Calling credits in Business setup. A telephone Test Call needs an eligible configured number, recipient permission and available funded credits. Importing a contact list does not record permission to call or message its recipients. Check the intended number and account setup before choosing any telephone action.
After a test you choose, inspect its reported status and available artifacts. Review any appointment, transfer or other action receipt separately from the conversation. An attempted action or an uncertain external result does not establish completion. Keep the relevant receipt and use the supported review path before retrying, then make a focused change to the agent and test the revised published version.
